Open enrollment

When you turn 65 or are moving into a new area, retiring, or just joining Medicare Part B, contact us a couple of months prior to one of the above events. We’ll help you get enrolled in Medicare and then explain the multitude of options available to you for selecting just the right Medicare and drug program.

Turning 65

Medicare open enrollment for Advantage plans (HMOs), both Anthem and Aetna PPO plans, as well as all drug plans will be October 15 to December 7 again this year. During this open enrollment period, you should definitely review your policies so you can potentially make necessary changes to both medical and prescription plans that are suitable for you and your doctors.

Birthday rule

Don’t forget to take advantage of the “Birthday Rule” that allows all the Medicare recipients to change carriers to another like plan (i.e. "F'' Plan to another "F" Plan) the month before and after your birthday. This is a good way to make sure you’re receiving the best benefits and doctors at a reasonable price from the most competitive companies regardless of your preexisting conditions.

So contact us close to your birthday if you'd like us to check the best carriers for the best prices with similar benefits.
